The City of Fairfax and the Town of Herndon has enacted an increase in their cigarette tax rates. The new rates effective July 1, 2010 are $.85 per pack for the City of Fairfax and $.75 per pack for the Town of Herndon.

The City of Fairfax and the Town of Herndon has enacted a cigarette tax increase effevective July 1, 2010. The new tax rate for the City of Fairfax is $.85 per pack and the new tax rate for the Town of Herndon is $.75 per pack.

The Virginia Department of Taxation issues, to authorized stamping agents, a Dual VA-NVCTB stamp that must be affixed to all cigarette packages sold or distributed in the jurisdictions of the Board.
All retail establishments located within the jurisdictions listed below must purchase properly stamped cigarettes only from authorized wholesalers registered with the NVCTB.
